Kentucky Congressmen and District Emancipation

The New York Post’s Washington Correspondent says Mr. Wickliffe, of Kentucky has gone home with three or four slaves which he brought on with him in December. Not liking to make them over to the Government at three hundred dollars apiece, he takes them to Kentucky, not feeling in the best of humors over the passage of the emancipation bill. – Green Adams, of Kentucky, Third Auditor of the Treasury Department, is the owner of slaves but he refuses to carry them away, permitting them to be emancipated by the law just passed.
