In Fifteen Battles

Among the wounded brought to the city is a veteran of fifteen battles.  He was among those who made the charges upon the enemy’s works at Fort Donelson.  He is suffering with a dangerous wound in the spine, and probably may not recover.  He is, however in good spirits, and says that, now the rebellion is declining, he is willing to die, if it so please heaven.  We hope the brave veteran may recover, and live long enough to enjoy his honors. – Cin.
