The Ex-King of Naples . . .

. . . has sent the sum of eight thousand ducats as contribution towards the relief of those injured by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius at Torre del Greco, accompanying his gift by a letter in which he speaks of “his ancestors” and of his poverty. – Not withstanding his alleged poverty, Francis II still maintains quite an extensive court.
