What Assistant Secretary Scott Says --- A Battle in Ten Days

PHILADELPHIA, May 28 – Hon. Thomas A. Scott, Assistant Secretary of War, has arrived here direct from Halleck’s army before Corinth having left last Friday.  Our army is in excellent condition, occupying a strong position and ready for the great struggle.  A battle may be expected within the next ten days.
