We learn that Dr. Amos Witter, Surgeon of the 7th Iowa
Regiment, and late Representative in the General Assembly from Linn County, died
a few days since at his home, to which he had recently returned by reason of
illness. The labors of his position as
Surgeon had been extremely arduous, and were probably the occasion of his
death. The Doctor was an honored citizen
and a faithful public officer. – {Des Moines Register.
