. . . the remarkable prediction of the late lamented Colonel. E.
D. Baker, made at the Continental Hotel publicly, last September, that the flag
of the Union would float over New Orleans by the 25th of April, has met with
remarkable fulfillment, as the very day coincides with the prediction. Many prominent Citizens can vouch for the
truth of the statement, and that the Colonel spoke not doubtingly but as a
certainty.
