Go with some other officers to Bagdad stage was robbed last
night from Matamoras by Cortimer's men. 2 custom house officer on a drunk
stopped stage for $2.00 about 6 weeks ago & was shot for it. Shoot is the
word in Mexico. A scooner lightening troops at Brazos missed the channel
running in & was wrecked. A total loss, no lives lost.
