Stopped at the Eutaw House last night; arose at 6 o'clock a.
m. from necessity and went shopping; got breakfast at 8.30 o'clock a. m. and
took the cars for New York City; arrived at the Astor House, New York, about 8
o'clock p. m,; looks like rain; city much excited; good news from Grant.
