We are glad to learn that L. D. Ingersoll, Esq., from this State who has for some time held a Clerkship in the U. S. Treasury Department, has been promoted for merit, to a more valuable position in the Department. Secretary Chase made the change of his own motion, after an examination of Mr. Ingersoll’s monthly report. – Des Moines Register.
