Cannonading in the
direction of Bridgeport. The President is making speeches to the soldiers—telling
them that they will be in the heart of Middle Tennessee in two weeks. Captain
Feeney has sent in his resignation, which, if accepted, will deprive us of one
of the best officers in the regiment.
