We learn from Dr. Smith, that the notorious deserter and horse thief, Ethan Allen King who has deserted from two regiments and stolen a number of horses in Northwestern Iowa, was recently arrested at Onawa, Monona county, by an officer from Sioux City. The thief was ironed and placed in a buggy to be taken to jail. Not being well pleased with the prospect before him, he knocked the officer out of the buggy, seized the revolver and compelled him to unlock his handcuffs, and taking the horse off the buggy, he mounted him, and left the officer “running loose on the prairie.” this is the second time King has escaped after being arrested. {Fort Dodge Republican
