The Pittsburg Gazette says that Senator Grimes’ excellent speech on Monday, against slave catching, directly or indirectly, by army officers and in favor of garrisoning the southern forts with blacks in order to save Northern lives during the sickly season, was listened to with marked attention. Its general views are understood to meet with the approval of most, if not all the Republican Senators.
