SPRINGFIELD, Ill., March 20.
U. S. Marshal Phillips arrested yesterday six respectable citizens of Auburn, in this county, under the order of Gen. Halleck, conveying them this morning to Alton, where they are to be kept in close confinement. Their offence was aiding and abetting the escape of a rebel prisoner.
