We learn that the street brokers who are . . .

. . .buying up Government claims here are Mr. Warley, of the Burtis House, Davenport, and Mr. J. H. Bacon, of Washington, Iowa.  Some facts have transpired which lead our citizens to believe that these parties were put on the track of these claims by the Government officer auditing them – that they have been put in possession of the fact that they are about to be paid, and hence are here to discount bills already very considerably [razed] by Capt. Chambers.
