BOSTON, March 29. – The number of Gloucester fishing vessels
lost off George’s Bank in the gale of February 4th was fifteen, and the number
lost February 1st was four; by the loss of these nineteen vessels 138 men were
drowned, leaving seventy widows and one hundred and forty seven children to be
provided for. Contributions are
solicited for them.
