NOTE: Of special
interest in the canton of this regimental flag.
The design reflects that of a regimental flag. The eagle carries a ribbon in its beak which
has the State of Iowa motto painted on it.
On talon grasps a cache of lightening bolt arrows and the eagles head
faces toward the hoist. These are
indications that this is a war flag.
