A letter was received in this city on Saturday from Col. W.
E. Woodruff, of the Second Kentucky Volunteers who is now a prisoner with the
rebels. – The letter was dated the 1st of January. Col. Woodruff and his companions, Lieut. Col.
Neff, and Capt. Austin, are now incarcerated at Columbia, S. C., and were on
the 1st inst. enjoying excellent health.
They await their release and return to the service with much anxiety. –
