Went into battle on this line about 9:30 a. m., April 6,
1862, and with slight changes of position held it until 11:00 a. m., when the regiment
fell back to the road and formed a new line.
It lost in the battle 9 officers and 117 men wounded; 35 men killed; 4
missing; total 165.
