Organized at Indianapolis, Ind., May 30 to June 10, 1862.
Duty at Camp Morton, Ind., guarding prisoners till August 17. Ordered to
Kentucky August 17 to repel threatened invasion by Kirby Smith, and duty in
Central Kentucky till September. Skirmish at Shepherdsville, Ky., September 7
(Co. "C"). Mustered out October 4, 1862.
Regiment lost 2 by disease during service.
