Clear and warm with no wind, and by far the finest day of
the month yet. Captain H. R. Steele came along this morning and took a part of
Companies B and G for the reserve thus leaving me in charge of only five posts;
wonder what he's afraid of? Have received our mail, but none for me. All's
quiet on the line to-night; countersign “Bristeau.”
