It has been a terrible day. The wind has blown a gale, it
has snowed or rained incessantly all day, and we miss our old cabins greatly
near Brandy Station. I have kept fairly comfortable, though. Such, however, is
a soldier's life in the Army of the Potomac. It's a cold blustering evening
without and were I not so busy studying I should be depressed and discontented.
