Mrs. Comly returned with her husband a few days ago. I wish
Lucy was here also. Foolish business to send away our wives as was done. A very
queer man when he gets into a state of mind on any subject!
The hottest of weather for the past three weeks or so.
Mother made a visit to Fremont with Laura and Colonel Mitchell.
