Relieved the 6th Iowa at 6:30 this a. m. The Rebels shoot
pretty close. Killed Orderly Sergeant of Company I, (VanSycle), and wounded
three men in our regiment to-day. This makes 50 in killed, wounded and
prisoners, or one in every six.
