Diary of Brigadier-General Rutherford B. Hayes, Wednesday, December 14, 1864

Snow going off rapidly; sun shining at intervals. In quarters almost all day. News from Sherman favorable. He is near Savannah and can probably avoid a fight and go to the sea if he wishes to do so. Nothing new from Nashville.
