Diary of Private Daniel L. Ambrose: Thursday, February 5, 1863

This morning, Oh! how cold! howling winds and drifting snow. It is indeed a fair representation of the sunny south. Nothing unusual occurs to-day. The soldiers hover closely around the camp fires.
