This evening finds us at the base of Kenesaw. We are reminded that this
name has gone to history, associated with deeds of valor; where Logan's battle
flag flapped against the sky. The heavens are all aglow to-night; to the
southward red columns of smoke are curling upward. Signal lights are twinkling
upon Kenesaw. Evidently Sherman is conversing with Howard and Slocum, his right
and left bowers.
