At 5 this morning
took the cars for Galesburg, where I arrived at 10 A. M. and went directly to
the College to attend the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of Knox
College. Were in session all day, and quite harmonious. I dined and took tea at
Mr Gales. Had meeting of the Board after tea, and I left them in session at
near 10 O'clock at night, and took the cars for Chicago.
