5th Missouri Infantry.—(3 Months.)

Organized at St. Louis, Mo., May 18, 1861. Attached to Lyons' Army of the West. Expedition from St. Louis to Potosi May 15 (Co. "A"). Moved to Springfield, Mo., June 16-17. Action at Dry Forks July 5. Expedition toward Fayette, Ark., August 3-5. Battle of Wilson's Creek August 10. March to Rolla, thence to St. Louis August 11-21. Mustered out August 27, 1861.

Regiment lost during service 1 Officer and 24 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 32. Enlisted men by disease. Total 58.

5th Missouri Infantry.—(3 Years.)

Organized at St. Louis March 18, 1862, by consolidation of 5th United States Reserve Corps, Voerster's Company Sappers and Miners, Giester's Company Pioneers and Winkelman's Company Pontooneers. Guard bridges on Iron Mountain Railroad and duty in South east Missouri till July. At Cape Girardeau, Mo., till November, 1862. Company "F" in District of Mississippi July, 1862. Companies "A" and "I" transferred to 25th Missouri Infantry, and Companies "H" and "K" to 27th Missouri Infantry. Companies "B," "C," "D," "E," "F" and "G" mustered out November 22, 1862.

5th United States' Reserve Corps Infantry.—(3 Years.)

Organized at St. Louis September, 1861. Consolidated with Captain Voerster's Company Sappers and Miners Captain Geister's Company Pioneers and Captain Winkleman's Company Pontooneers to form 5th Missouri Infantry March 18, 1862 (which see).
