Lieut. Batho Peyton Jr., who was killed in the Bill Springs
Battle had the sword presented to his father during the Mexican war, having on
the blade an inscription showing by whom and when presented. The Danville Tribune says it was sent to Gen.
Buell. The sword of Gen. Zollicoffer is
in the possession of Col. Fry and will be sent to that place by Col. F., to be
kept by his family
