The itinerating rebel Capital, it will be remembered, has
been removed from Richmond to Danville, Va.
This station is 168 miles
southwest of Richmond, In Pittsylvania county, only five miles from the North
Carolina line. How long the Capital will
remain here cannot be told, but the doughty gentlemen who comprise the
Congress, we presume, hold their sessions with carpet bags at their side, and
sleep with their boots on! Jeff., the
traitor President, was still sneaking around Richmond at latest accounts, with
papers packed up, ready to rejoin his associates in crime.
