Washington, April 24,1864.
Frank Fessenden has been wounded and captured. It is not known
how badly he is wounded. His regiment behaved well, and so did he. Everybody
curses Banks loud and deep. I have not seen Fessenden since the news came. I
send you Foster's speech on Sumner. It is regarded as capital here.
