To the Master of Transportation, on the Annapolis &
Elk Ridge Railroad
SIR: Having been informed that rails on your Road have been
taken up by your Company, I desire to know whether that was done for the
purpose of hindering the transportation of the United States Militia, under my
charge, to Washington. An immediate and explicit answer is desired.
