CINCINNATI, August 27, 1866.
DEAR UNCLE:— I came down from Kingston Friday. Mother Webb improved slowly during the whole of last week. We now have some hope of her ultimate recovery. Her case is still, however, very critical. She was much comforted by the appearance of the boys. If she continues to improve I can send Birch and Webb or bring them myself to Fremont about the last of this or the first of next week, if you want them again.
We begin our active campaign the last of next week.
Sincerely,
R. B. HAYES.
S. BIRCHARD.
