No news of the
expidition yet. Too mudy to do any thing yet but stand Guard. It rains about
half the time. Both Rivers are still raising, & threaten to inundate &
overflow our camp The camp at Ft. Holt is nearly all under water now. The
members of our Regt express great chagrine because they were not permitted to
accompany the expedition and share with it in its perils &
honors Capt. Parke Officer of the Day.
