General AUGUR:
The Secretary directs that the troops turn out; the guards
be doubled; the forts be alert; guns manned; special vigilance and guard about
the Capitol Prison. I advise, if your men are not sufficiently numerous, call
upon General Rucker for assistance in furnishing guards.
