Diary of Sergeant George G. Smith: June 21, 1863

Our brigade, under Gen. Morgan, with three batteries and a cavalry force under Col. Grierson, went out on the Jackson road in pursuit of some guerillas under Chief Logan. Did not get them — horses too fleet.
