. . . brook the outrage perpetrated upon the good name of their
city by the recent mob at the Opera House on the occasion of the appearance of Wendell
Phillips, and so have sent him an invitation to repeat his lecture in that city
on his return east, when they pledge themselves to “see him through.” Mr. Phillips will probably accept the
invitation.
