Major-General Ulysses S. Grant to Major-General Edward O. C. Ord, June 19, 1863

[June 19, 1863.]

There is a citizen living about four miles from your Headquarters, who I understand is scouting about the county very suspiciously. He rides a very fine brown stallion, and may be known by the Provost Marshal 13th Corps. Arrest him and have the horse kept by some one of your staff until it is determined what should be done with him.
