Started early, landed at 10 A. M. at Jones plantation
(deserted). Had Battalin drill in cornfield. Rebels left this place sunday
advanced in the afternoon about 8 miles down the stream, but lay within 3 miles
from our starting point in morning 22 years old today. Weather fine.
