Our readers will well remember James T. Hogane, a former resident of this city, who two successive elections wasn’t chosen surveyor of Scott county. From a private letter received in town last evening, we learn he was captured at New Madrid. He was in command of a company of secesh sappers and miners, who he claimed were A No. 1; but they ran nevertheless about as fast as the rest of the Confeds.
