NEW YORK, April 14. – A correspondent of the [Philadelphia] Enquirer, after being captured by the rebels at Pittsburgh Landing and afterwards escaped, has arrived at Cairo. He states our loss at 4,000 killed and 12,000 wounded. The battle lasted thirteen hours and a half on Sunday and eight hours on Monday.
We captured all but two or three of their cannon, including the famous Washington artillery of New Orleans.
