McPherson, born Sept . 19, 1843, in Knox Co., Tenn.; graduated Tabor College, 1870; principal schools, Akron, O., 1871-73; principal preparatory department Tabor College, 1873-80; superintendent of schools in Tabor following year; principal academy at Albuquerque, N. M., 1881. During the war Mr. McPherson was in Co. F, 15th Iowa V. I.
