Two young ladies attending school there were poisoned by a
third who was jealous of the attentions paid them by young gentlemen, and
complaint was lodged against her before a magistrate. But, ere she could appear for trial, she was
assaulted by some men in disguise, and so roughly handled that she has since
been unable to leave her room.
