The steamer Spaulding left on Sunday for Fortress Monroe
with a part of the rebel prisoners.
The Peabody touched at Hampton Roads, where she saw a large
fleet at anchor.
The expedition to Beaufort, North Carolina, had not been
reported back, except the capture of the Nashville by our blockading fleet as
she was leaving the place on the approach of our troops.
The Peabody returns immediately with stores.
