read a sermon. Lilly Ward and I swam across Mary's Lake, with the occasional
aid of Will Forbes2 in a boat. Tried shooting at a mark for the
first time in my life. Hit the target five times out of six at 100 yards. Took
a long walk and ended the day by a row in the harbor. Two boats raced. We beat.
