Made a few
purchases today; two common gingham aprons for G. for which I gave $12! Two
thin, very common cotton stockings, $4 per pair! Ten cent handkerchiefs
at $2.50 apiece. This little note book is a record of prices more than any
thing else; yet when I look back a year or six months, to pages where I have
made notices of prices, how very reasonable they seem now!
