Another change — a snow-storm; March fuss and fury. Received
a note from Lieutenant-Colonel Jones, directing vigilance and to be in
readiness for an attack by the enemy or for a forward movement, — the
abandonment by the Rebels of eastern Virginia on the Potomac rendering it
likely that the enemy will come here or we go there!! . . .
