Am not feeling well; took cold on review yesterday. The wind
is blowing furiously, the air is full of dust, and it is a disgusting time. A
party has gone to Pony Mountain. The long roll was beat and the regiment was
hastily formed in line about 7 p. m. and so remained until 9 p. m. when it
broke ranks. It was a scare. Such is army life in time of war.
