Weather fine this forenoon but began to cloud up towards
night. Major Harper has paid off the regiment to-day. The sutler is also
selling off his stock of goods, as to-morrow is the time appointed for all
sutlers to leave the army; looks like a move in a few days; am detailed for
picket to-morrow; no letter from home to-night, am sorry to say.
