It's been a beautiful day; left camp at 6 o'clock this
morning and reached Brandy Station at 9 a. m. One would hardly think it was
Sunday by the stir about camp and our base of supplies, but war knows no
Sunday; arrived in Washington at 4 p. m. and went to the National Hotel. War
rumors load the very air here.
